Library card PINS

PINs for library catalog access are different than the PINs used for printing. However, to reduce confusion, both PINs may be the same.

To add a PIN:

  1. Login to the catalog (since they don't yet have a PIN, leave this blank)
  2. Click on My Account
  3. Click on Add or Change PIN
  4. Reenter library card number at top
  • Leave PIN entry box at top empty since they don't yet have a PIN
  • Enter new PIN in box at bottom
  • Reenter new PIN in other bottom box to ensure accuracy
  • PINs must be 4 numerical characters numbers. (New self-check machines will have number keypads.)

5. Click orange Change PIN button

Other info

PINs are being required for use with self-check.

If someone forgets their PIN, verify their identity and then call the circ staff help line and have their current PIN removed so the patron may add a new one.

The #UfRequired field missing shows up both

*when a patron with a pre-existing PIN is not logged in and forgets to enter their PIN

when trying to place a hold online

(This user must enter their PIN.)

OR

*when a patron who has just created a new PIN is logged in

and trying to place a hold online during that initial session

(This user must log out and log back in with their new PIN.)
