Children's Special Health Care Services
Indiana Children’s Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) provides supplemental medical coverage to help families of children who have serious, chronic medical conditions, age birth to 21 years of age, who meet the program’s financial and medical criteria, pay for treatment related to their child’s condition.

Community Health Nursing Division of Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health
The Community Health Nursing Division operates an immunization clinic where free vaccines are offered to children and teens up to 18 years of age. The division also provides health information to foreign travelers and basic health screenings for newly-arriving refugees. In its effort to promote a safe and healthy environment for Allen County residents, the division also tests children for lead poisoning and assists with case management of lead poisoned children.

FamilyWize
FamilyWize Rx and Insurance Cards are primarily for people with no health insurance or prescription drug coverage. However, they can also be used when people have to buy medicine not covered by their health insurance, Medicaid, Medicare or VA benefits. FamilyWize cards even include prescription pet medications
when they are purchased at a pharmacy.
There are no age restrictions, no income restrictions, no limit on how many times you can use it and no waiting to get a card. Most major pharmacies in Allen County accept the FamilyWize cards, including Scott’s, Walgreens, K Mart, CVS, Kroger, Target, Meijer, Wal-Mart and Sam’s. This effort is a local initiative of the United way of Allen County and Allen County Commissioners.

The Indiana State Department of Health, Long Term Care Division, is pleased to make nursing home survey information available to consumers to help evaluate the quality of care provided by Indiana's Medicare and Medicaid certified nursing homes. The Division inspects nursing homes at least every 9-15 months to assess compliance with federal standards of care such as adequacy of staffing, quality of care, and cleanliness of facilities. In addition, as necessary, the Division investigates complaints and serious incidents occurring within a nursing home.
